Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Art therapy is a valuable tool for self-expression and personal growth, but it is not a substitute for medical treatment or psychological care. While Odd Brush Collective is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Every individual’s journey is unique, and results may vary. Clients are responsible for their own decisions and progress throughout the process.

Governing Law

These terms and policies are governed by the laws of Canada and the province of Alberta. Any disputes or claims related to our services will be resolved in accordance with these laws.

Art Therapy-Specific Guidelines

At Odd Brush Collective, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care in our art therapy practice. These guidelines outline important aspects of our work, including confidentiality, informed consent, and the scope of practice. They also clarify your rights regarding the artwork you create and the boundaries we uphold to ensure a safe and ethical therapeutic relationship.

Confidentiality

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us at Odd Brush Collective. Everything you share during sessions, including the artwork you create, is kept confidential. We will only share your information with your written consent, except in circumstances where we are legally required to do so (such as cases of immediate risk of harm to yourself or others).

Informed Consent

Before starting therapy at Odd Brush Collective, we’ll ensure you fully understand the process, including what art therapy involves and what you can expect. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions and discuss any concerns before we proceed. If we would like to use your artwork for educational purposes or case studies, we will always ask for your explicit permission beforehand.

Scope of Practice

At Odd Brush Collective, we are committed to providing care within the scope of our expertise as art therapists. While art therapy is a powerful tool for self-expression and healing, it is not a substitute for medical treatment or psychological care. If your needs extend beyond what we can provide, we will support you in finding the appropriate resources or professionals to help.

Client Artwork Ownership

The artwork you create during sessions at Odd Brush Collective is fully yours, and you have complete control over how it is used. After each session, we will ask you to complete a post-session form through your Jane account. This form allows you to upload images of your artwork and specify whether it is for note-taking purposes only or if it may also be shared for educational purposes or case studies. If you give permission for your artwork to be shared, we will always ensure it is done with respect and care.

Professional Boundaries

At Odd Brush Collective, our relationship with you is built on trust and respect. We are committed to maintaining clear professional boundaries to ensure your well-being. We avoid dual relationships that could interfere with the therapeutic process and always act in your best interest.

Termination of Services

Therapy is a journey, and there may come a time when it is appropriate to bring that journey to a close. If it becomes clear that therapy is no longer benefiting you, we will discuss the best next steps together. Should you decide to end therapy early, we will ensure that any remaining artwork or session notes are handled with the utmost care and respect for your privacy.

Privacy Policy

At Odd Brush Collective, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect (e.g., name, email, and contact details), how it’s used, and how we keep it safe. We’ll also outline your rights regarding your data, such as requesting corrections or deletion, and share details about cookies and tracking technologies used on our website. For client sessions, personal health information (PHI) is securely managed through Jane, a HIPAA- and PIPEDA-compliant platform, and we encourage keeping PHI communication within this system. Information Usage

We use the information collected to schedule sessions, send newsletters, respond to inquiries, and understand how visitors engage with our website. Occasionally, this data may be shared with trusted third-party services, such as Wix for hosting or Google Analytics for tracking site usage.

Personal Information vs. Personal Health Information (PHI)

At Odd Brush Collective, we distinguish between general personal information collected through our website and personal health information (PHI) collected during the registration process for sessions.
